Congratulations!!!

I would like to announce the new 2006-2007 President and Vice President of H4H. They are Jessica Grayson as President and Dana Whitmore as Vice President.

I would like to thank all who participated in the voting process and congratulate Jessica and Dana on becoming our new leaders of this organization. I wish for you guys all the best in the upcoming year!

There is no new Secretary or Treasurer at the moment. Those positions will be filled in the Fall around the time of the first H4H meeting. If you are interested please let us know by emailing us at: memphish4h@yahoogroups.com.

Again, congratulations on the new officers and once again, thanks to all who made this inaugural year such a success!!!

Elections Are Now Open!

To All Students,

It's time to vote for new officers! To cast your vote please go to UC 425 and vote for the President and Vice President positions. The other positions will be filled in the fall.

These elections will be open until Thursday April 20, 2006 at around 4pm.

The nominees are Jessica Greyson and Dana Whitmore. You may also write in a name of someone if you feel that they are eligible for the job.

I want to personally thank everyone for their support and participation in this organization. Without you guys we would not have had as much of a successful year as we did and since this was our inaugural year, I am very impressed with how well we were in promoting it. I hope that this organization will continue to grow in the years to come and that one day when I return to this school it will be as big as any other great charity organization.

I will miss you all. Good luck to the new officers and have a splenderific summer!

Thanks,
Lydia

Minutes from Today's meeting.

  • Recent Events
    • Current Build Progress: Going very well, we are at the point of Painting the house and working on the inside as well.
    • Mini-fair: Didn't go as well as hoped but it did get the word out and now more people are interested
    • RA program: Lydia lead an RA program in my dorm and informed the residents about Habitat for Humanity. Some of the DG's (Delta Gamma Soroity) are interested in helping making Habitat for Humanity a huge organization here on the University of Memphis campus
  • Elections! Elections! Elections!
    • We will be voting for 2 offices from now until next Thursday (April 20, 2006). These offices are for President and Vice President and the nominees are Jessica Greyson and Dana Whitmore. Please cast your votes in the Student Activities Office UC 425. The other offices will be voted upon in the Fall by the current members and new Officers.
  • Registering Org with UofM and National Habitat/Website Maintenance/Etc.
    • It is now time to register H4H with the UofM as well as applying as a Campus Chapter with the National Habitat for Humanity.
    • The new officers need to meet up with the current President (Lydia G.) and Vice President (Steve F.) in order to get all of the information they need for next year. Also, the new President needs to meet up with the current President and Jeff so that they can talk about the Fall build.
